Cláudio Rodrigues


Born in Gaeiras, Claudio develops strategies to empower and develop critical thinking in low density urban areas. He studied literature in Nova University of Lisbon and keeps its research on the constriction of post-modern poetry. He is the vice-president of Associação de Jovens Voluntários de Gaeiras, where he manages Comm.Comm and other activities. He is currently working in the Communication unit of the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology of the European Commission. He’s the author of the web-page Faca de Manteiga.


Ana Seirôco


Born in Ajuda, Lisbon, but working around Portugal and Europe since 2009,  when she started her journey  as Youth Worker, Adult Educator and European Project Coordinator. Since then developed a large range of competences in European projects: Facilitator, Trainer, Grant writer, manager, coordinator, internal auditor and evaluator. Tutor and Mentor of european trainees and EVS Volunteers. She is a registered and validated trainer in Salto-Youth platform and trainer of Human Resources in Aeronautic area. Degree in Human Resources Management, Post Graduation in Human Resources Management and Organizational Analysis, and Bachelor in Philosophy.


Anique Dounias Schirris


Born in Holland in 1960. After high school she studied art at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts at the Hague . She has been living and working in Lesvos, Greece since 1983. After working in tourism for years, she went back to being creative with art. Has been teaching art to children and adults at private schools and had exhibits . Since 2012 is self -employed and Leader of  Poliana’s workshop/NGO. She use different media, such as acrylic paint, softpastel , pencil and collages.


Antonios Kyriakopoulos


Born in Thessaloniki, Greece on 1970. Studied at the Agricultural Department of Aristoteles University and I have Master in Environmetal Policy and Management .He has been living and working in Lesvos, Greece since 1999. Since 2014 he is supporting Poliana’s workshop/NGO as project manager. He likes painting, beekeeping and windsurf.


Diana Paros


Born in Arges, Romania in 1982, Diana attended Foreigh Languages and Philology Highshool and continued with “Ovidius” Costanta University, Faculty of Law and Administrative Sciences, Law Specialization. She has been living, working and studying in Constanta since 2001. Started with a job in a local television in publicity until she found her path in the Education sector where she has developed her skills working with adults and young people. She participated in numerous National and European projects (Grundvig, Erasmus+) and developed her skills gradually through a number of national and international projects.


Ingrid Põldemaa

NGO Islander

Ingrid has extensive experience in youth work since 2003. She has been one of the leaders of the European network of youth with rheumatism under EULAR (European League Against Rheumatism) from 2009-2013 ( She had a leading role in a pan-European research project about needs of young people with rheumatic diseases. Collected data was used for developing an European youth strategy 2015-2020. (more info: She holds a Masters of Arts in Law degree. Ingrid is a project manager and founder of NGO ISLANDER and working as NGO management consultant and trainer. She is an active volunteer in local organisations for disabled people and also coordinating local volunteers.


Irene Caro Campaña

Social Worker and Spanish Sign Language Interpreter and Guide Interpreter for Deafblind People.Irene caro Campana Scholarship in Degree on Social Worker at La Salle University , Bogotá (Colombia) by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI). She has worked as a project manager for a deaf women’s association at the regional level and is a member of the “intercultural life” intercultural association in which she has been tutoring EVS. Since 1994 she has been working as Sign Language Interpreter at University, employment workshops, training courses and secondary education. She currently works in Secondary Education Centers as a Spanish Sign Language Interpreter and is an e-learning trainer with the University of Granada “CAVIRIN” (Inclusive Virtual Campus). She is a founding member of the Diagonal España Association and the President of the Organization.


Mariana Tavares


Dedicated social worker and entrepreneur, Mariana is a volunteer in JVG since its early days and has been helping the organisation grow its international presence by leading several youth groups in international mobilities and coordinating some international projects within the Framework of Erasmus+. She has a masters in food engineering and after succeeding professionally in the field, she decided it was time to take a turn. She developed her passion for travelling, meeting and working with other people and has been developing her own company while working as a air hostess in TAP.

Claudio Barroca


A passionate designer and youth worker who has dedicated the last decade to creative education within the project Fábrica da Criatividade, in Óbidos. His drive to innovate and connect different branches and social environments in local communities pushed him towards cooperating with JVG in different national and international projects, being for the last few years an active member of our community.
